Cassette/derailleur/hub noise

One of my wheels is making a rattling/tinkling noise as if the indexing is out, but only on the 3 largest sprockets (on either large or small chainring). Only the indexing isn't out, shifting is perfect and there's no noise at all on the other sprockets. I've had the wheel on two bikes and the noise is exactly the same so I'm fairly certain it is the wheel, but can't work out what's causing the noise.
The cassette is done up tightly (no play in it) so I don't think that's the problem. I've tried greasing the splines of the freehub, but that made no difference. I've oiled where the spokes cross, but that makes no difference. Now I'm stumped. I just can't work out why there'd only be a noise on the 3 largest sprockets if it was something like bearings.
Cassette is SRAM 1070 and chain is a Shimano 6700 on one bike and SRAM 1050 chain on the other.
Anyone?

Mech hitting cassette? Might need a bit more tension in the b screw.0

What wheel is it? Could the freehub bearings be worn causing the freehub (and cassette) to wobble slightly on the axle?0

b screw adjustment is fine (checked and double checked) and freehub is only a few thousand miles old (PowerTap hub).
It only makes a noise when I'm pedalling properly. If I soft pedal there's no noise.
Could it be noise from the spoke nipple/rim interface? Rim isn't alloy though, it's a carbon clincher.More problems but still living....0 -
Just to clear this up for anyone that has a similar problem, I did get to the bottom of it eventually. The issue wasn't the hub as became clear when I had the same noise on a different wheel with two different SRAM cassettes and on 2 bikes. The issue was in fact that the hub/cassette combination seems to require the thin spacer with a SRAM cassette. Without the spacer there was no noticeable movement in the cassette, but clearly it wasn't held snugly enough no matter how tight I did up the lock ring. With the spacer and with the lockring done up the same - no noise. The spacer isn't needed for a Shimano cassette though. Odd.More problems but still living....0
