Bianchi Pista

Evening all,
I'm a complete newbie here so I hope that I'm in the right place. I hoping for some sage advice from those with more experience than me.
I'm looking to but my first road bike. (I say first. first since my Dawes Sport about 30 years ago). I've been cycling to work for around 4 years now, mainly on a Specialised MTB, (with road tyres for easier going), I'm intending to keep this as a bit of a 'hack' for the worst of the weather and for family jaunts on cycle paths and the like.
I'm intending on buying a road bike for my daily commute, pretty flat and half decent roads here in Cardiff. I'm drawn to the Bianchi Pista Steel, purely on looks, I appreciate that it may not be the most practical choice, but just look at it! I've never ridden fixed so I'm guessing I'll probably have it set to freewheel at least to begin with.
Great idea, or all style over practicality?
Alternatively can you suggest another good option? I'm very drawn to Bianchi as a whole as I love the look of them, but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.
