Assos Bib Shorts - Sizing Query

Have decided to take the plunge and invest in some decent bib shorts for some planned long distance rides.
Have relied on DHB and Altura shorts up to now and they have proved to be fine in general but on occasions I have had a bit of numb bum syndrome after a longish sportive
All the received wisdom suggests that I should be looking at some Assos Bib Shorts - either the FI Uno or Mille.
Bit of confusion over what to go for in terms of sizing. Most sites just seem to quote a height range and on one site where a height and waist size was quoted - my height (6ft/183cm) sizing (Large) was listed as having a 30-32" waist.
I have to confess that I am no racing snake and my days of fitting into a 30-32" waist have long gone. My waist is more in the comfort zone of 36" + and according to the size charts I would need an XLG or TIR size that are designed for giants of 6ft 4" and above.
Anyone out there in the same predicament ie 6ft tall and waist of 36/37" Have you found a size in the Assos range that fits? When ordering, should I focus on height or waist or try to hit some compromise in between

You do indeed need to go by height. They will fit your *ahem* generous proportions - I know from experience.
I have a couple of pairs of F1 Unos and they are superbly comfortable.0 -

Just got some UNOs myself and I'm 6'1" with a 34"
Waist, they fit me and look like they still will do when I inevitably return to a 36 waist in the winter0 -

So did you go for the "Large" as specified by their height guide or did you plump for the "XL" to build in some room for expansion?0 -
Which part didn't you understand, "go by height" or being told Large or both?0

Sorry, I got large. Plenty of room for the Christmas expansion too :-)0
