i have a DA 7900 crankset and an old compact ultegra SL with an alloy pre load screw and the DA and Ultegra ones are interchangeable... i ve just fitted the ultegra one into the DA spindle and the crankarm, so it will fit.
You screw it into the end of the spindle b4 you tighten the left hand crank bolts (otherwise it doesnt screw in all the way) hand tight is good enough, its there just to give the bearings a little preload.

I d imagine any bike shop will have a few lying around.

go to shimano tech docs - get the code and type into google. sometimes, not always it comes up with a supplier who holds stock.
