I have a new set of Rebas which replaced some damaged Fox forks. I have noticed that they make a noise which I can only describe as like a sharp intake of breath on rebound from a hit. Is this normal?

Apart from that they seem to be fantastic forks and I prefer them to the Fox FIT 32 RL's that they replaced.

Oil moving in the damper. Probably.

Unless you keep riding over small children without noticing.

Mine make that noise if the rebound is set very slow...they make more of a yelping noise when I ride over small children.

Perfectly normal, just the oil whizzing through the damper assembly.
  • Good to know. They do seem to be working fine. The noise is not as obvious now that Ive rabitted up the damping a touch.

Just to be pedantic, you rabbit the damping down - less damping, faster rebound.
