I run Stolen-Bikes.co.uk which is a website dedicated to using technology to fight crime we've got a few projects on the go but the two of most interest at the moment are...
The Stolen Bike Register
Stolen-Bikes.co.uk
This allows victims of bike theft, to come and post pictures and details of their stolen bike in an easy way. We then send the information out via various means putting the information out there to hopefully get the bike spotted.
We also have volunteers that use the below service to setup alerts for bikes that feature on the register, letting the victims know when something comes up
The Bike Finder
BikeFinder.Stolen-Bikes.co.uk
This pulls ebay and gumtree ads from around the UK, allowing people to filter by location, title or price. We have recently added a custom alerts feature, allowing victims of theft to put in a search and get daily updates on any bikes matching their critrea.
We have a few other projects on the go which should help prevent cyclists becoming victims of bike theft in the first place
Thanks for reading! John
