New bar tape; colour suggestions

Now that the old black bar tape is pretty knackered I am looking for some new tape. The old black one looked a bit boring, sure the bike isn't going to look half as good as some of the stuff out there but any suggestions as to what colour I should get?

Thought white tape might go well with the white saddle so the Fizik MicroTex is the main contender now- heard it doesn't go dirty quickly either.

Here's the bike!

On that bike, with black stem and black seatpin, definitely black. Then change the saddle for a black one and you're done!

You're in danger of shopping for whitewalls or worse - white tread.

Red, it will match the stripes in your seat and make you faster as well... guaranteed!

I thought 'WHITE!' after this looked pretty nice:

Not sure about red, doesn't really match does it? Not sure :|

Rule #8// Saddles, bars, and tires shall be carefully matched.3
    Valid options are:

Match the saddle to the bars and the tires to black; or
Match the bars to the color of the frame at the top of the head tube and the saddle to the color of the frame at the top of the seat tube and the tires to the color where they come closest to the frame; or
Match the saddle and the bars to the frame decals; or
    Black, black, black
    Yellow is the new Black.

If you do change the saddle, take the opportunity to position the new one at a decent angle too - how do you not slide right off that thing - it's like a ski jump!

Actually, Fizik do a MicroTex bar in silver so it will match the frame?

….or don't be a sheep and go for what makes you happy. Fizik now do some seriously glossy white bar tape, it looks like shiny white latex! Not my cup of tea, but very easy to keep clean.

White tape only looks nice in the showroom.....one ride and it's a mucky grey - even though grey would go quite nicely with your frame.

I'd try and pinch a bigger bit of cardboard as well......otherwise we'll be discussing carpet colours very soon!

Yeah, white going off colour was one of the reasons I had reservations about it. Reckon silver will do nicely. Thanks everyone for suggestions

Edit: Grey may do nicely as well on that note!

White tape looks good on fast, clean bikes. That bike looks messy with bits of cable and attachments hanging everywhere, not to mention the huge stack of spacers and dodgy saddle angle.

So I'd get summat like this to give it even more character

Leave the tape and get a black saddle at an appropriate angle

white + white hoods, in which case fizik microtex as it stays pretty white and once grubby cleans up well

    or

    black + black hoods

    simple

if you are adept with photoshop or a similar tool, take a side-on picture in neutral lighting, and then select the area the tape will be on, then you can use the adjustments to see the effect of different colours, it works very well
my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny

White bar tape only gets grubby if you get the wrong bar tape. Fizik Microtex is not the wrong bar tape.

Yeah I've decided on silver pretty much and if that goes out of stock white; MicroTex does have a reputation of not getting dirty quickly. I think silver will complement the frame really
