Thanks! that's exactly the one, between the train tracks at the station and the Monkstown bridge! It's an easy, unremarkable segment, approx 3.5% and 1m long but it's outside my house therefore I feel ownership of it lol0
-
I feel like I'm missing something by not having an active strava.0
-
I should lend you mine for a week or two, think it would help me focus on actually getting better rather than silly segment wins lol.0

Cant beat a bit of competition
Only thing that annoys me is segments that have junctions/automated traffic lights or roundabouts where you have to rely on alot more besides your legs0 -
uploading.....
43rd to 6th, not too bad0 -
Welcome to the thread Hutchy.
Please don't cycle in the Dundonald area .. its hard enough to get KOMs here! All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!

Not bad going at all. Think I will go out and give it a blast tomorrow night see If I can get some top spots and of course to get in some extra training and keep the legs moving0

LOL at "easy spin and form test" + taking 90 seconds off second place.0
-
Had a good cycle last night, good 20miles-ish, managed to bag a KOM over hydepark towards hightown just though, 2 seconds. Couldnt quite muster up enough power to challenge Chris' B59 time bit of a head wind there last night.
Can tell the nights are drawing in might have to invest in clear lenses for these slightly darker evenings. Some roads are a mess now with all the bloody roadworks!0 -
Yeh I know what you mean, it was pretty dark by 9 last night. I've managed to get soaked on 3 out of my last 4 rides, took a break from commuting this morning so I could go out for an enjoyable run tonight, weather dependant with some fresh legs.0
-
aye I went to go out last night at 9 and abandoned. too dark.0
-
Getting very close to lights required time :shock:0

What time do you guys leave for an evening cycle? Can you not go home and go straight out and eat dinner when you get back? All the above is just advice .. you can do whatever the f*ck you wana do!

I try and get out for just after 7, lets the traffic calm down a bit. Any earlier I would be sitting for ages at the top if my street trying to turn right across traffic0
-
Good luck to all those doing lap of the lough today, great day for it0
-
Anyone do it? I've decided I'm not built for long flat rides after last year!
Went up Divis again instead. Took over 4 minutes off my best on this segment and moved up to 5th. I could get another place if I hadn't had to dodge pedestrians I reckon, but other than that I could not have given any more - 177bpm for 31 minutes. I simply won't get under 30 minutes without fitness gains, so it's a good yardstick.

Good luck in getting home in one piece!
Our club run stumbled across the lap the lough, some horrendous cycling, we were glad to get out of the way.
Dunno how many hundreds were out, still, someone made a good few quid out of it......0
