Tubular tyres + Vittoria Pitstop

Hi,

Two questions.....

I understand they come with a risk, but after puncturing on the etape this weekend, I am looking at alternatives.

Currently riding Corsa Evo CX. But looking to see if there are alternatives that offer a little more puncture resistance and durability?

Also, Vittoria Pitstop, how long does it last for if it is unused? I have heard stories and some going off if they are a year old for example. (not sure if this was about the Vittoria though)

Thanks in advance

I'm racing on Schwable Durano Tubs this year. Been very impressed with them especially given the state of the roads we race on up here. Saying that I'll no doubt p@ncture tonight in the mid week race after posting this :|

Once its in your tubs it stays 'active' for about 3 months before going off. In a can it wont go off - its latex with foaming agent in an ammonia based solvent, and will sit until the solvent is allowed to separate from the latex, which cant happen in the can. Some of the liquid alternatives can 'go off' on the shelf though if the caps are not on tightly.
