I have a trek 1.2 2011 and am trying to remove the bottom bracket. Does anyone know exactly what BB is used on this model? Shimano-style cartridge with square-taper spindle, ISIS cartridge....etc?? I know that I need to use the spilned cartridge bottom bracket tool on it but am not too sure where to start!

Thanks.

Do you have the FSA Vero crankset? If so, probably the Shimano UN-54 Square Taper BB.

Remove crank arms with crank extractor,
then non-drive side bb with the tool,
then drive side with the same tool.

Quick and easy, just remember righty tighty, lefty loosey.

...and don't forget lots of grease when it goes back on.

Yes, it's a square taper, from memory they are made by RPM but the same as the Shimano equivalent. Unscrew the non drive side first, this just removes a lock ring, then unscrew the other side and this will allow you to withdraw the BB.
