Hi - I've recently noticed a couple of areas on my none drive side carbon chainstay where there's crazy pave like cracks that have appeared on the laquer.

I'm 99% certain the crack effect is in the laquer only and therfore should'nt be concerned about the structure.

As I've had the frame just six months, would it be worth contacting the bike shop that sold the frame regarding warranty. Would you do this or is this just Petty for a few laquer cracks.

Comments

  • It it were me I most definitely would. The cracks in the laquer could be appearing as the chain stay is / has flexed too much which could be a sign of other damage that is not obvious to the naked eye. If nothing else get the shop to do an inspection and ask them to comment on this (don't start shouting "warranty" as this will most likely put them on the defensive) as visually it's not great either.

Sounds like a warranty claim, my argon 18 has been fine after 8 years ...
