SRAM RED 2013 / 2012 compatability

Hi,

I know SRAM officially says otherwise but is the 2012 and 2013 SRAM red not cross compatible at all?

I'd just like the new crankset because my 2012's are mullered.

Must it be combined with the new YAW front derailleur and levers?

    Thanks for posting that. I recently purchased a new crank set and opted for SRAM Red Black after reading the SRAM hype about the new ergo components and old part compatibility. Reading that, the set up I was looking at would have presented a few teething troubles that I know would have forced me to shell out more to solve them. Besides the Red Black stuff seems to be being sold off fairly cheaply in comparison.
    I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.
