Stem Lengths

Hola peeps,

Have updraged my bard from a 680mm bar to 760mm bar, and i think i need to drop stem length a bit, but trying to figure out what length. currently running 70mm and thinking with over 80mm of increase on the bars i should drop the 20mm on the stem and get 50mm but then a middle option 60mm does exist and its not like i've gone to a 8000mm bar :S what are peoples thoughts on this?

Try it first, I had the same thoughts when I went from 680 to 760 with a 70mm stem, feels ok after a few runs but if I was swapping it would be for a 50mm.

You can get cheap stems on ebay. Buy a couple of different sizes to try then ebay them and get something trick when you are sure of the size you like. Outland do some cheap and tough stuff for about £20 on ebay.

Yeh it def feels a bit more xc in terms of position now though handles better with the wider bars,

Was thinking of trying a couple but was thinking i would have to spend £40 on test stems and the stem i want is only £45 lol

Struggling to find the vid Nic, lots of how to vids, but nothing i can see about stems? Got a title to help me refine my searches?

Ahh i got it, good vid your right, gonna hold on for a bit and test it on some real DH and see how it goes, if i'm not 100% happy may jump to 50
