Microshift shifting problems

I have a Felt Z100 with 9 speed Sora gearing, but with Microshit shifters/brakes, the bike is superb for me apart from the shifters, its worse on the left lever (a triple), I sometimes have to push on it 3 times and a long way to get it to shift to a bigger ring, is there anything I could do to make this better or would it be a better idea for me to get Sora or even Tiagra shifters and dispose of the Microshift?
Also, would I have to change any of the cables?

sounds like a lack of tension in the cable. or is it just not picking up ie feels soft?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

There's no pressure at the lever when I push it to the right to change up to the next chainring.Cube Peloton Pro.

Well I've stuck with the Microshift shifters for the time being due to financial reasons, I was out on the bike today and although the right shifter seems to be working fine, the left shifter is getting worse, if I'm on the smaller of the triple rings and try to change to the middle, I have to push the lever that far, I have to take my hand off the left side of the handlebar and then I have to push it about halfway over again until it eventually engages, it's the same when I move to the big ring. I've had the bike to the LBS but they tell me they cannot do anything with it. Using it as it is is causing me problems because of the arthritis in my hands.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I could/should do? I've been offered some nearly new Tiagra 9 speed shifters with the left shifter being for a triple for a decent price, would it be a case of a straight swap over?
Cheers

Go for the Tiagra - the spring in the Microshift shift lever is quite poor - the front shift is always worse - eventually it won't latch at all and you won't get the big ring then. The spring may also break.0

I thought microshift had a longer pull than shimano.. so it may not be a problem as such.. just that its a long throw.

is that comparable to your shifters?0 -

Thats more or less the same as the shift on my bike, it's the front shifter on my bike that's crap.Cube Peloton Pro.
