Shimano shoes, did you buy one size up ?

Hi,

I've just got two pairs of Shimano shoes both the same apart from size, 42 & 43. I'm normally take a UK 8 in trainers. Are Shimano's size 42 the same as a UK 8 and the 43's a UK 9 ? I have a pair of Shimano road shoes in a 42 and there pretty snug but I think these mtb ones I need the 43's. The 42's fit but feel tight around the width. I've tried them with a few pairs of different thickness socks. Found this http://www.mountainbikebitz.com/shimano_sizes.php says 43 is an 8. Do you normally need a size up with Shimano's ?

That chart doesn't seem right. My AM45's are 44's and 9.5, not 9. Maybe AM45's are measured differently.

But I bought 44's and I'm normally a 44 (five ten's and normal trainers) and they fit perfectly.

This http://www.onlineconversion.com/clothing_shoes_mens.htm. says 42 is a UK 8 US 8.5 and 43 is a UK 8.5 US 9 that sounds about right.

I have 2 pair of shimano shoes size 47 and I am a UK size 11 . shimano shoes are not very wide in the fitting, The only way to be sure is try them on first.

yup, size up allowys you to wear thicker socks in winter! - think sealskinz + merino liner
ive 2 pairs, both the same style but ones a newer model, the olders a 45 and the newer 46,
does also depend on the style of the shoe too, if you have the Dancing boots like mine they are narrower, the normal trainer style shoes like the AM45's then they are a little more forgiving in the sizing!

I have the mo77 shoes in a 45 size 10 which i normally take and they cripple my feet to be honest , i should have sent them back but thought they d wear in , as above i think you been to seize up for shimano shoes and they are a narrow fitting.
