Clicking Missing Link!
Hi all.
I've built up a winter training bike using a 10 speed Tiagra groupset. For some reason, the KMC misssing link I am using looks to be running slightly out of line and jumping /clicking as it goes through the derailleur jockeys. I've tried a different link, but it does the same. The rest of the chain looks nice and smooth as it runs. It does it backwards and forwards.
Is it because it's on a Shimano chain instead of a KMC one?
The KMC chain with missing link on my other bike runs fine.
Just wondered if anybody had any ideas.
Thanks
Steve

Is it the right size?
Is it fitted the right way arround?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Definitely the right size, 10 speed link. I didn't know they had to be fit a certain way.

I just remember one KMC link was directional at one time.
I note they do one for campy chains an another for shimano and their own chains."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Checked the packaging and definitely the right link.
I'll try swapping it round.

From KMC: Missing Links are NOT directional.
Regarding the click - we make two 10 speed connectors:
CL559(R) - for KMC, Shimano and Sram chains (5.88mm)
CL559C - for Campagnolo (5.9mm - this could be the cause of the click)0 -

Indeed - I have a Mavic chain with I think a Connex quick link which has a slight banana shape to it and it looks like it is directional. That said, I can't remember what the instructions said and I just fit it the same way I always did and that works. Don't know if the world would end if I fitted it the other way round......Faster than a tent.......0
