Memorial Benches

You know those memorial benches, the ones by beauty spots and view points that have small commemorative plaques on in honour of someones life, well what would you have on yours. I'd have
'Cleat used to sit here,
but not any more,
cos he rolled off the bench,
and bashed his head on the floor."
'Cleat used to sit here,
but not any more,
cos he rolled off the bench,
and bashed his head on the floor."
The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.

Something simple, like
"He's dead y'know. Don't mess the bench up. He liked it here."
or the more prosaic
"I can your house from here".0 -

Cyclocross world champion 2011.
Marianne grew up in this area/environment.0 -
Apparently she has created a 30 km bike route in her neighbourhood for family rides and every time she wins a world championship it earns the route a new bench, placed in some picturesque spot.
I have the feeling that 30 km isn't going to be long enough.0 -
This article is about a spoof bench plaque put up in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/Plaqu ... story.html
The plaque reads: "Dole dossers' bench. Erected by Erewash Borough Council for Ilkeston's finest scum to drink the day away and intimidate the old and working class."0 -

Hoorah for the council....
"The council said it had no plans to remove the plaque."

Cleat should've been wearing a helmet then0 -
I'd have one at the top of a suitable hill 'Be warned, Pross used to sit on this bench to recover from the climb. One day he never made it'0

I'd like something along the lines of the Ian Dury singing bench in Richmond Park.
There is no mention of him, it is merely inscribed "Reasons to be Cheerful". It has solar panels in the arms and you can plug headphones into it. One side plays Reasons to be Cheerful, the other an interview with him.
I've not tried for a couple of years. Last time I was there the interview side didn't work. That's well worth a visit.0 -

Now happy that he's thin at lastI may be a minority of one but that doesn't prevent me from being right.
