Wheel bearings

Can anyone tell me how do you know when your wheel bearings need regreasing or if they are done for?

    Depends on the make of hub and type of bearings. Cup and cone can often be resurrected - as long as the bearing seats in the hub aren't severely pitted. With cartridge bearings, once they get rough and sloppy it's time for a replacement.
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
