10 speed setup,
Cog 1, outmost (small) cog 10 inner most (big)
It will run from from cog 1 up till cog 7 and back no problems.
but it will not move higher. it feels like its locked out...
If you get off the bike and manely move the rear mach and pull the shiffer to 10, it will work 10 down to 8 and back.
but if you drop to 7 it will not back up to 8-10
any idea guys please.

new stuff or used? if it was all working fine before and you have tried winding out the barrel adjuster on the shifter(do this first if not) then replace the gear cables (inner and outer).0

Not adjusted properly.
Something is bent.
Something is farked.
As above, what did you do between it working and not working.I don't do smileys.

the mach is 3 months. working fine till about 2 weeks ago. bike was very very muddy and the gears where not working on a ride so i messed with the barrel.
now its like this. which why is windding out the barrel??? down or up :P0 -
Out probably but I would start from scratch, loosen the cable, screw the barrel adjuster most of the way in, reattach the cable and fine tune.I don't do smileys.

With the cable disconnected does the mech move all the way if you push it by hand, and are you getting 9 clicks through the shifter.
And was the shifter at the end of the clicks when you connected the cable?I don't do smileys.

Yes it moves very smothely by hand.
only 6 when its on cog 1.
if you push the mech up to 10 you can click the shifter the rest of the way.

I'm afraid that makes no sense to me. Disconnect the cable, hold the end to give it some tension - does it have 9 clicks?I don't do smileys.

Bent mech hanger?
Check the mech moves freely and is not catching on itself.
What happened just before this problem appeared?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

the hanger is not 100% buts its not far off. and i have had ones at in half before and worked better then this so i dont think its that.
its been fine. then a few muddy rides and i played with the barrel adjuster mid ride, now its like this.0 -
Only needs to be a little bit out and you're stuffed. The more cogs, the smaller the gaps between, the more sensitive the shifting.I don't do smileys.
