What a difference!

Been riding with clipless pedals for about 3 years now but always had them set to lowest tension as scared I wouldn't be able to clip out quickly enough in an emegency. Been suffering recently with knee pain & bad cramping in quads so decided to try increasing the tension of my pedals.....can't believe the difference, no more knee pain & cramp seems to have disappeared as well, also taken 5 minutes off the 20 mile loop I do over the last 4 weeks! Just wish I'd taken the plunge ages ago!

Excellent work - well done that man.
I decided to take it all one step further and nail my feet to the pedals - saves weight on shoes and expenditure on cleats at the same time.
Only problem is that now I can't take the bike of so going into small rooms/lifts is a bit of a hassle.
Anyone else has any other money and weight saving cycling specific tips?0 -

At risk of exposing myself as the idiot I am here, is the OP genuine?
If so, how would increasing tension improve performance?
If not, then I apologise - I'm an idiot!! :oops:0 -

Any fool knows that increasing tension improves performance, you can force it in further and faster.0 -

There are other areas of life to which this also applies. The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns

I literally have no idea what to believe now!
My pedals (shimano 105's) have always been on minimum tension and I've never come unclipped no matter how hard I push.0 -

Well I increased the tension and it seemed better but that may have been the fact that I'm regaining some fitness I lost recently. Cheers!0
