Bought Xenon 9 speed shifters to replace worn Veloce 9 speed shifters, I have noticed I don't get the two micro shift on the left Xenon as I did with the Veloce, which was really useful as you can stop any slight rubbing on unusual gear combinations. Why was this removed?

Xenon is lower range than Veloce - and given the minimal functional difference (number of gears aside) between Veloce and Super Record it doesn't suprise me that they might not include the trim function on Xenon.

Look at it as gods way of telling you to use your gears properly

Veloce shifters were quite old and were getting worn, would have picked up Veloce 9 speed but seems to be going way of the dodo.

The Xenon mechanism is called 'Escape' and it was brought in towards the end of the last decade on the lower end groups. It's often referred to as Quick Shift 'QS' but that's wrong as QS refers to a modified cable pull on the front mech (Escape and QS came out around the same time).

With the modern shaped levers, Escape still partly survives in 'Power Shift' - though the feeling is more refined - and the higher end 'Ultra Shift' is akin to the micro shift.

Anyway, you'll have to keep an eye on Ebay for non escape 9 speed levers - or shift down to the small ring and trim back up (as escape should have a trim-click going back up).
