Clamp on & Braze On

Hi, got a new ribble frame 6 cms bigger then the last and am swapping parts over. The new one comes with a screwed on 'braze on' hanger whilst the old bike has a band on mech. I know you can get parts to allow a braze on to be banded but can I use the old band on mech on this new frame? Effectively when I unscrew the braze on plates there are slightly protruding lug holes. I didnt know if these would introduce some sort of lateral movement or what. Thoughts? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi, can't you unscrew the clamp from the derailleur?
That's what I had to do when I had similar situation. It might depend on the manufacturer though.

Depends on the model of front mech and check the manufacturers spares catalogues which can be found online.
