Just popped a rear drive side spoke on a ride and was told by Madison that the spoke for that wheel is out of stock, due in sometime in July. Does anyone know if there is an alternative make of spoke I can use instead of genuine Shimano.

You need a straight pull spoke of the correct length. They are not impossible to find.

Ps... It is outrageous they sell wheels with no spares available!!

I had similar issue a couple of weeks ago and it took a week for my LBS to get them from the distributors, which I assume is Madison's. The was completely out of true. Have you tried your LBS?

From a quick look at a couple of tech docs you should be able to use the spoke from an RS20. It won't look the same but it is the correct length. Part number is 012 AP02-7 and Madison have them in stock.

I have exactly the same issue. My rear RS-80 wheel had a spoke snap right in the middle. Tried several online retailers - all saying earliest delivery is 7th July+. LBS saying the same. Madness I tell you!!!

Next set of wheels, one with J spokes... Plenty of spares for 50 pence or less

Had an old set of rs20's where rim had cracked on every other drive side spoke. Swopped a spoke over for a temporary fix. Thanks.
