Garmin Edge 800 - HR antenna range?

Can anyone comment on how far the Garmin Edge 800's heart rate monitor transmitter can be from the GPS before the signal is lost? For example, if you hop off for a p in bushes, or drop into a shop for a cheese stick - do you lose your HR data for that time?

    It's a few feet, so yes you do, but WGAS? Do you really need to know your HR while you're shopping!?

    Its claimed to b 3m, but I would say its better than that. I've had situations where mine has picked up multiple signals (the IDs are not that unique) while at popular bike stops.

    However if you use the auto pause function it wont record inputs when your speed is below the auto pause speed. Which is kind of what you want normally.
