New bike measurements

I will soon be getting a new bike, so what measurements do i need to take from the old bike to transfer to the new bike, my old bike is a Giant road bike with a compact frame the new bike is a Cannondale Caad 10.

    ...essentially, you use the bb axis as the point of reference, measure saddle and bar position with respect to it, then apply the same bb offset measurements to setting up the new bike

    you'll also need to adjust bar and saddle angle, you can do it by eye

    Seat height is from the centre of the BB. I put the back wheel of the bike against a wall and measure from the wall to the centre of the BB and then to the tip of the seat. This will give you your lay back. Measure from the tip of the seat to your shifters. Once you have measured all from your old bike do the new one setting up the seat first obviously.
