Fitting a compact to my bike
Guys, i am sure this subject has been done to death, but i am struggling to find the relevant answers.
I have now established i have an Isis bottom bracket on my bike and currently run a standard Bontrager double with a 12-26 cassette. i live on the doorstep to the cotswolds and in a fairly hilly area, and after strugling and getting demolished up a hill i have now established i need to change y current set up. I have been looking at changing the cassette to 12-27, no problems and a relatively cheap mod, however i think i need a compact. Now, any recommendations as to what compacts will fit my current BB setup? Alternatively do i now need to change my bottom bracket to suit more modern compacts? If so what should i be looking at? The world of BB and compacts seems to be a mine field to me. Any help greatly appreciated.

all isis cranks should fit an isis bb without any issues
the difference in size is to fit the frame, so a triple shold just fit on there, but the shifter and mech may need changed0 -
Cheers, I cant seem to find suppliers of Compact cranks for Isis BB. FSA seem to be the only ones. So i guess the next question is do i need to change my BB. If so what do i need to look for when i buy, i guess my trek 1200 is a fairly standard fitment?0

Yeah, the threads on the frame are standard - you just need the BB that matches the chainset.
Something like http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=43207 or http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=67233 with http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=67221I'm left handed, if that matters.0
