I have a 2005 Giant OCR1. Its fitted with a full Campy veloce groupset. I decided to replace the bottom bracket due to slight play. On removal of the old bracket i find it to be a 110mm JIS bottom bracket. Now, by doind a little research on the net i find that ISO and JIS are SORT of compatible. Now the quandry, should i fit a straight replacment JIS Bottom bracket or buy the correct Veloce BB? If I go for the Veloce then what would be the equivilent size to maintain the same chainline??

Any help much appreciated as I'm getting frustrated,

Regards
Andy

JIS and ISO are similar but different - JIS just a bit stubbier, the taper angles are pretty much the same. The correct Veloce BB for a double chainset is 111mm or 115mm for a triple.

Thanks for the reply. So, if i go for the 111mm veloce (im running a double), will i maintain the same chainline as i had previously or will i need to make adjustments to my FD?

    Cheers

You'll probably need to adjust your front mech stop screws as your chainrings are likely to be sitting a bit further inboard with the correct Veloce BB:
