Remains stable while holding my ridiculously heavy winter bike.0 -
so nearly bought a "cheap" one but something in my head said Park...which is what I got. Superbly put together, very good clamp and very stable...highly recommended. ya pays your money......0

I borrowed my neighbours cheap eBay special last time I needed one.

I wasn't hugely impressed, didn't seem that stable and had issues clamping the bike by the seat post without it moving. But that was before I saw how much they are, and to be honest, for the money I'd say it's not actually that bad (for some reason I thought it was around the £100 mark).
Saying that I've just ordered the Park PCS-10 for my next build.

I have the one in the link above I got it for £30 from Aldi. The stand is very stable with 4 legs and has good height adjust-ability however, the clamp or the part that the clamp fits to lets it down.
Clamp the seat post with the bike in the air and the front wheel slowly goes down till it rests on the ground, I get around this by putting a box under the wheel to keep the bike level, not ideal but I can live with it considering the small price tag.2019 Ribble CGR SL

I have this one from Merlin, think it's the same as the one sold by Ribble - currently with an extra 10% off.

I also bought the toolkit on the same link and they are both are perfect for home use. I needed to buy cable cutters separately but they cost £20.

I was in Decathlon yesterday. They have a couple of decent stands that are competitively priced. Might be worth a look if you have a branch near you?FCN 3 / 40

I got a Minoura RS-5000 on sale for about £120. Works well enough.0

I have a cheaper Ribble version - fine & robust etc. I didn't like it for my carbon frame though, I hate clamping it on the top tube or seat post and it makes it awkward to wash the bike. As I do all my own bike builds and maintenance I treated myself to the Park Tool version and absolutely love it. It hold the frame securely via the from or rear drop outs and rotates for easy access. Expensive, but top quality kit.0
