What wheel to get

Hi,

Am looking to replace a pair of Mavic Ksyriums that have seen 5 years of service and are giving up the ghost. Am on a very tight budget so cheap is good but I wopuldn't want anything heavier than these (about 1500g I think)

Couple of questions.

I have had endless problems with mavic wheels over the years, front hub loosens constantly, rear hub sticks. From what I have heard this does seem very common on mavics compared to other brands. Does this bear out with other people's experiences as I am not overly keen on getting mavins again?

Is it possible to get shimano wheels fitted with a campag hub?

I see Fulcrum racing 3 wheels look like a good replacement in terms of weight, any ideas on whether they're good or not?

Any other general suggestions for good wheels in this sort of price range (<=£600)

look like very nice wheels but they're not as light as the mavics I'm replacing. Which given the first major outing is the marmotte doesn't sound ideal.

but does it not also matter where the extra weight (in Hope wheels) is or isn`t? I`d suspect rims are light and teh rotating weight is of key import

If you have campag then look at campag wheels.
Pair of Zondas weigh around 1550 and can be had for under £300.

At circa £600 max, i'd be seriously tempted by the bling of the Fulcrum Racing Zero's. Should come in around £575 delivered.

I'm seriously considering the above myself.
