Your help would be greatly appreciated on this

I bought a Planet x Ti sportive just after xmas. I've been thinking of getting a Brooks Swift saddle and matching bar tape.

What do guys think will look better with it colour wise? I'm stuck between Honey and brown

Here's what they look like
brown

And this is the bike

If anyone else has any other saddle / tape combo's they think would go better please feel free

I think they both look lovely, but I've got a soft spot for the honey stuff.

Although it would probably dirty up quicker than the brown.

I own two Swifts, one honey and one brown (sadly I don't own a Ti bike! ).

I would go for the brown.

Out of the two, Brown, but if it was me it would be black

I have just bought a swallow saddle with Ti rails, I'm testing it ATM, the jury is still out.

The honey becomes brown within one year...
I have a swift with copper rivets just like the top one (brown) which I could sell, it's near new, not even broken in yet... my girlfriend would prefer a woman's one... PM me if interested and we can coem to an arrangement

How old are you? If under 40, I dont think its acceptable to use a Brooks saddle, especially on a titanium road bike!

Well I'm 54 and I have fitted a Brooks B17 special to my bike. I went for honey, and so far it has stayed that way. It may have almost doubled the weight of the bike, but it is a thing of beauty with it's beaten copper rivets and plated rails. It is also very comfy.

I'm thinking black would go better with Ti though...

Both of my Honey coloured B-17s have remained honey coloured an they are all several years old. THey are, as noted above, things of beauty.

I like honey coloured Brooks but with a Ti frame you could go with just about any colour and it would still look good.

When I was 27 I had a Brooks B17 Narrow on my Boardman, Looked nice. Killed my arse though, gave me horrific saddle sores. So I had to sell it.

I think a titanium or steel road bike is the perfect place for a brooks, one day I'll try again, but with a swift or something else a little softer

 luckily I turned 40 last weekend. As a result I've started to grow a beard and search for carradice bags to adorn it. I've also thrown away my Garmin 705 and bought a new map and compass

The honey for me, and the same colour in brooks bar tape too!
  • For anyone interested I got the Honey one and matching tape. I'll get a piccy up on the my bikes section as soon as I get the saddle and tape on.
