Powertap SL not reading - help
Hi,
I realise many will suggest I go to Paligap, but I want to at least try everything before I go down that route as I assume its not going to be the cheapest route.
I have a Wired SL built into a Hed Jet 6 that I bought 2nd hand last year. All seemed to be going OK until 3 or so weeks ago when after 1 mile the head unit stoped reading. I had not changed the batteries in the hub, so went about doing that using SR44s as the manual says.
It all worked fine for 2 weeks (including a 10 last Thursday) - then I washed the bike Monday night and come doing a 11 sporting on Tuesday the head unit turned on fine, but it was getting no data from the hub.
I've just gone out to check it again and there is nothing. I've even checked using the spare sensor I have and it is the same result. Head unit turns on but getting nothing. I've now taken the battery cover off to see if it needs drying out at all.
Is there any other checks I can do/go through at all? Many Thanks in advance
Brett

Could be water in the system, try popping it in the airing cupboard overnight to dry out.***** Pro Tour Pundit Champion 2020, 2018, 2017 & 2011 *****0

Which batteries are you using? SR44 I presume, but which brand? I use Energiser now after wasting my time buying Boots SR44 that would only last a couple of weeks a time. SO all batteries are certainly not equal.More problems but still living....0

Thanks, it turns out that it needed a new battery holder. Maybe it had got corroded. Paligap sent one in the post and it appears to be working now, especially since I gave the connector a good clean with COntact Cleaner using a cotton bud or three.
I've also now bought some Contralube from Maplin on Paligap's recommendation to help stop any water ingress and corrosion issues hopefully in the future.
I am well chuffed tis evening as I thought it may be a ship off to Paligap and repair... now what to do with that money I haven't had to spend... maybe some Radarlocks mwah haha0
