Not fully figured it out!! .

glad its not just me then lol

Cheeky question, would you let me come and see it in the flesh? Id bring i.d. or could meet you at the local fire station (im a fire fighter) so you know im not up to no good. Just the opportunity to actually see one before i ordered one would be great

    I understand if not

    Cheers
    Lee

Hi, looks like I live quite some way from you (Nottingham), but happy to meet up at Cannock sometime if you've not already ordered? Not sure when I'm there next mind. Probably a couple of weeks, definitely the 9th June as I'm doing some DH training

Which one did you go for? If I see a Strive at Cannock, chances are it'll be you!

Thats another question all together. It will be the 7 or the 9. If i get the 9 i need to sell my ghost to hep fund it but if i get the 7 i keep my ghost. I can always add the crank brothers wheels at a later date as i feel teh spec of the 7 is ample for my riding as this wont be my main bike if i keep the ghost. The only problem is the white 7 is a 10 week wait whilst the white 9 is in stock!!

My only concern is losing the ghost and regretting it as its superb at xc and all day natural stuff. If i get the 7 i also get the luxury of riding both and seeing if i need the ghost. If i find that the Strive does the lighter xc well then i can sell the ghost to add the bits i want for the Strive but thats only really the cb wheels

I wanted a white one but the wait was an extra 3 weeks - that was on top of the 3 months I thought I was going to have to wait. The bike ended up being delivered in something like 3 weeks (about 2.5 months early)!

Pretty chuffed with the black one though particulalry as you never see them anyway. Think I have only ever seen one other and that was on someones roof going the other way.

How come you are only considering the 7 or 9 and not the 8? The ES8.0 looks like a better bike than the 7 but still a lot cheaper than the 9? The fork would be worth the difference being a Factory FIT RLC rather than the basic R from the Performance range.

I use mine for all day rides - the 60km Dyfi was an example. I've never struggled but haven't had a short travel bike to compare to! Guess it depends on who you're riding with as well, I do occasionally get dropped by one mate on a 100mm Santacruz but he's fitter anyway. I'm quicker on the descents though :D

The 8 would be ideal but really like the white one. Iv advertised the ghost for sale so if that gets a decent price ill let it go and get the 9

Quick picture of me and the Strive where it should be - the top of a mountain, about to hammer down (to the best of my ability anyway!) :D

Nice pic, Guess what i ordered last night lol...yep a 2012 Strive es 9.0 in black. Should of got one originally. The Nuke proof is a brilliant bike but you know when you have your heart set on something, nothing else will do despite how good it might be. The Strive better be awesome or else ill be gutted lol.
  • Ridden both, strive better!

what about going up? Im selling my two bikes (carbon 456 and mega) so the strive has to do both their duties.
  • Thats a great pic buddy!
Love the bike! Especially like that top tube shaping... looks awesome!

I think it's pretty good going up considering its ability. Done several long days out with long climbs. Don't think I'd be much quicker up hill on other bikes really.
  • Excuse the slight ignorance but what are "planetary gears please?

    Thanks

Bike bike does look the dogs nuts (even as a mud Sculpture ) lol
