Specialized allez - how much?

How much do you think Specialized Allez's should go for on ebay say 2010 model?
I have an old Raleigh that I stupidly paid £70 for + a new back wheel at £20 + some new pedals - got ripped off I think but I needed it quickly at the time. It's my commuting bike but the brakes are pretty crap in the wet. Front wheel is old but true.
Just wondering if I should bother updating to a fairly new road bike, might be quicker and more comfortable with better drive train and ride. Could always sell the Raleigh on again but it kind of does what it needs to, I'm not racing or anything.

Quick scan of completed listings on Ebay shows that 2011 Allez models go for between£400 and £500 depending on spec. There were fewer 2010 models and their prices (by auction) ranged from £280 - £400ish.
That should give you a rough idea if you planned to go down the Fleabay route.
Main question is - what budget do you have to spend?
That would tend to guide you towards either a new bike or a 2nd hand bike but with generally a better specification assuming it's in good condition.0 -
