I have put a couple of stone on and I am now a hefty 16st 10ib
As such I thought I would start again with a mountain bike as I think I am too heavy for my Carbon road bike at the moment.
So I thought I would look for a Mountain bike that would carry my weight and also be fun on and off the road.
Would this bike be ok if I changed to some slick tyres?

Any advise appreciated

Ok for what?
Yes it's fine for your weight and will be quicker on road with slicks0 -
Why not consider buying a decent second hand one for half the price unless you plan on using it for a few years but any good quality framed bike with decent parts will be ok .You must treat others with respect in order to be respected ..
