The left shifter has just gone norks on me.
I have just pulled it apart and the little pawl on the ratchet has died.
I see from various reviews, and the number of broken left shifters for sale on fleabay, that this is quite common.
I have three, no make that four questions
1) is this as common as it would seem ?
2) can Shimano repair it if I send it away ?
3) if it's not repairable is it worth replacing with another Tiagra ?
4) are 105's a better option or are they just made of a more expensive cheese ?
On the whole I am thoroughly p'eed off.
Cheers
Al

Return it to the place of purchase and ask them to contact Madison warranty department. They should swap the internal for a double or triple specific left hand main lever assembly.0
