Anyone know how they compare and suitability of each for a slightly wider 700c tyre eg Paves or a Krylion 25? Any comments on ease fitting etc for each rim and above tyres?
Can`t find any tech data for the Mavics :(

    They're both pretty narrow.

I've got 25mm Michelin Pro's on my Open Pro's and they are fine. On and off easy enough and they haven't done anything I didn't want them to in 6 months.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

Intyernal width oof an open pro is 15mm I think so it should take 28c tyres with no issues. Never measured the internal width of a RR415 though.

Open Pros will take a 32mm CX tyre no problem and I've got away with 38mm (Schwalbe Snow tyres) even though Mavic recommend 28mm maximum. Wider rims do mean that the tyre profile is a flatter U-shape, which means you get more grip and less sidewall 'squirm'. Just built some new disc wheels with Stan's Crest 29er rims and the tyre feels like I've got more grip than the previous wheels with narrower rims.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Details for the Open Pro which I'm sure are accurate (apart from the weight which is 'optimistic').

    Manufacturer Details:
    - ETRTO compatible size: 622 x 15
    - Recommended nipple length: 12 mm
    - Recommended rim tape: 622 x 16 x 0.6
    - Recommended tire widths: 19 to 28 mm
    - Valve hole diameter: 6.5 mm
    - Weight 435g

    DT R415

    Additional Info:
    - Available in black or silver
    - ETRTO: 622 x 15
    - ERD: 599mm
    - Width: 19.4mm
    - Height: 20.8mm
    - No. of Holes: 28 or 32 (in both colours)
    - Valve Hole Dia: 6.5mm
    - Eyelets: Single
    - Recommended Rim Tape: 622 x 16mm
    - Recommended Tyre Dimensions: 700 x 19c to 700 x 25c

Both will be fine with a 25mm tyre.

In case they notice me copying and pasting from their website the details were knicked from http://www.sjscycles.co.uk which is an excellent shop for all you budding wheelbuilders. :D
