Chris King Bottom Bracket Compatibility?
Its time for a BB replacement and am looking at options. To date I've been running the standard SRAM GXP BB with my Force chainset, but am considering replacing it with a CK BB for the 5 year warranty, user serviceability and (hopefully) long term high performance, after great experiences with the headsets.
My question is around the compatibility with other chainsets? While the Force is staying for this year in all likelihood, I would like to move to a power crank in the future and dont as yet know which chainset this would use. It might be I'd stick with SRAM but just as likely it could be a Rotor, FSA or other brand. I'd hate to upgrade the BB now and find its not compatible in the future. I believe CK do a 'stepped' version for use with SRAM chainsets but how does this affect the use of other chainsets?
Thanks for any advice.

the CK BB comes with a shim system to allow you to use SRAM c/sets. Just remove it to run a Shimano system. In short, it'll handle either type of c/set (but not BB30 obvioulsy)Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

thanks - thats what I had hoped. I think Rotor uses Shimano type BB's as well, so hopefully that gives me some options.Your Past is Not Your Potential...0
