How do I fit this little Token chain catcher thingy

If it's the same one as mine, you can only fit them to braze-on front mechs and not your band-on mech0
-
Simple answer is it cant be fitted to a band on front mech. The only way you could fit it is to buy a braze on front mech and an adaptor for your frame like this..0

Grrrr Sufferin' succotash
Are there any chain dropper things that will fit?0 -

However, the Dog Fang mounts directly adjacent the smaller ring - so if your tubes ain't straight around there (and it looks like yours aren't Pete) then that won't fit either! I had quite a job to get one to fit on my Look 585 as the BB lug was partly in the way. Much easier though than that flared seat tube.
I believe you can do something with a cable tie! You just need the end of the cable tie to be large enough to just fit between the seat tube and the inner chainring. Might be a decent solution in your case.
Or you just make this an excuse to go CampagFaster than a tent.......0 -

Where's the bling0 -
PS - love the ingenuity of cable tie but personally I would try my best to Heath Robinson the deda into working first ...0

I have a band on front mech too. K -Edge do a banded chain catcher but its about £35 so I got one of these which is a chinese copy but is easy to install and works very well:

It took about 10 days to arrive.
I tried a deda dog fang but as my bottom bracket area flares out at the bottom it would not sit properly. The cable tie method only seems to work if your inner chainring sits close enough to your seat tube for the cable tie to almost touch it when its installed and mine didn't.0 -
This is the K-edge one to which I reffered to in my previous post:

As you will see, the chines one looks almost identical0 -
Holy Moly!!! £36.89 for a tiny band on thing with a strip of metal stuck to it. Painfully over priced!!! You could buy a decent front mech for that. Crazy
Even the Chinese one seems pricey
Slightly cheaper here but terrible colour

Might try the cable tie method . . . ..........
Any other suggestions selcome0 -

OK - get a new mech and fit this rather natty band on adaptor from the above chap (though I do think his chain catcher would look terrific on your bike)

OK so I just shelled out £60 for a Dura ace front mech (please don't let my wife see this thread) and now you're telling me to get a braze on version. That clamp does look pretty sweet though, never seen red carbon. I can see all sorts of coloured carbon trends happening!!0 -
Maybe you just need a new frame for the chain watcher..........Faster than a tent.......0

Those chain keepers only work with Di2. You'll need a complete new groupset.0
-
Incorrect Dude - they don't work with Di2: the chain catcher messes with the electrical signals every time that you change gear (essentially it acts like chaff that they disperse from aircraft when they think that someone is firing rockets at them - fuzzes up the signals) - it confuses the Di2 "brain" and sends it into random changes. That is why pro dudes who use Di2 don't use them and some people have stopped using Di2.
The only decent groupsets they work properly with are 2012 Red and Super Record 11 (they won't work with normal Record due to material inconsistencies).
The only frames that they properly fit to snugly and won't shift about on are Ritte Bombergs - they are also need deep rim Lightweights to offset the added weight of the chain catcher and to maintain the front/rear balance ratios of the bike.
Naturally all the other old shyyyyyte on the old bike should be smashed with an axe then thrown into next door's garden.
Sorry to be the purveyor of bad news.0 -
Bloody hell, Yossie, I didn't know that. Much relief all round. I'm now very pleased I didn't waste my money on DA and went for Super Record on my LOOK 586 build.
Didn't know that about the wheels either. I'll be on the phone to Germany very shortly.

If you look closely you can just see the colour co-ordinated Token chain keeper in the photo!0 -
No worries - happy to help anytime.
They actually did a study on all this, and found that they also provide increased wattage when teamed with black Lampre or Molteni kit.
Bizarre I know, but there you go.
Good to see that you have made a wise and informed choice though - you have the Yosster approval.0
