carbon seatposts and saddle bags

used a saddle bag on an alu seat post and the strap on the post rubs off the paint on one of my bikes,put helcopter tape on another alu seatpost to stop this happening.
if i changed over to a carbon seatpost would it be ok to stick helicopter tape to the carbon post to stop the rubbing?

    you can use tape on a cf post

    or just don't use a saddle bag, one jersey pocket holds plenty
    my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny

    yes, or wrap section old inner tube around post between saddle bag strap and post
