Mushroom-shaped boss on seat stay.
I'm presently playing with a lovely old Peugeot, giving it a respray and the what-not.
There is, however, a strange mushroom-shaped sort of boss on the inside of the drive side seat stay. Its about half way down and flat topped.
Simple question; what is it for? I want to chop it off really, it's only small but would prefer it not to be there if it has no use.
Thanks!

I am guessing it is for hooking the chain on when rear wheel is removed, Id keep it on , adds to the look of the frame0

Exactly as the above reply states'Collapse the Light into Earth'0

Yep - as above. Keep it - it's useful. I can remember getting my first frame with one on and feeling chuffed that I had a 'proper racer'.0

I never even thought of it being a chain hooker, quite useful indeed!
Thanks folks!0
