Campagnolo Freehub question

A friend has lent me a pair of Cosmic Carbones to try. These are a few years old and he has swapped the shimano freehub for a campag one but my Chorus 11 cassette doesn't fit, it locks up when I tighten the lock ring.
Am I right in thinking that I need an 11 speed specific freehub or can I do something with the current one?

It's possible the wheels will not take an 11 speed cassette. I have a similar problem with a pair of Easton Ascent II wheels, the 11 speed cassette comes into contact with the body of the hub and won't rotate. Easton confirmed there was no way to convert these wheels for 11 speed, so you may be in the same situation with the CarbonesTearfund Tour of Scotland 26th May to 1st June 2013

Thanks very much for your help.
Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks.0 -
Hi Mate, sounds like you need a thin shim behind the cassette to move the sprockets further out, any decent bike shop will have some.
I have never seen this problem before and not cured it with the above method0 -
A cleverly designed spacer might do the trick... does the freehub sit partially inside the hub shell? Post a photo of the interface freehub/hub, that might helpleft the forum March 20230

Mavic know of this problem, which onlt effects their older wheels. New hubs have a small chamfer to give a bit of clearance. The solution is a thin spacer to sit behind the cassette, from memory it is 0.55 mm thick.
Got mine from SigmaSport in Kingston, but I'm sure others will have them.
