Looking to change my cassette from a 11-26 to a 11-28 and need to know if a new chain will be needed for it to work.cheers inadvance

How old is your chain?? If the chain is worn then then i'd personally use a new chain - otherwise you will run the risk is wearing the cassette prematurely.

Yes you will, the old one will be too short.
