Try and remove the crank and the bottom bracket. Give the treads both on the frame and the BB a good clean and re grease. Have worked for me a couple of times, although sometimes it’s difficult to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. So you might have to check other things but by the looks of it you have missed out this step.0

I'd try to isolate the area in the first instance. Frames can 'throw their voices' and make sound appear as if it is coming from a differing area. I recently had a creak which seemed to be coming from the bars but in reality was the seat tube.
Is the noise apparent in seating or standing positions?
Is it happening on every pedal rotation?
Can you replicate the sound in a standing position by putting pressure on the bars/seat without pedalling?0 -
agree with above. had a squeak, was sure it was coming from the front but finally sussed it was the seat post. alu on alu = squeaky.0

What road pedals have you got? Not Look Keo's by any chance, in which case they could be the issue.
Try stripping the pedal and re-greasing. Or could be the contact points between the pedal and the cleats (apparently the keo grip cleats can cause a creaking noise).Little boy to Obama: "My Dad says that you read all our emails"

Some talc on the cleats every other ride sorts out any squeeking from down below. FWIW my very annoying creak, which I could have sworn blind was coming from the BB was actually the seat post. I took the seat post out, cleaned inside the frame and the outside of the post, then a really liberal spread of grease. You should probably do this every few months anyway to stop the seat post jamming in the frame. You've no won the Big Cup since 1902!0 -
Just spray a small amount of WD40 on your cleats. That'll sort it, or my name's not Big Willy from Willyland."There's a shortage of perfect breasts in this world, t'would be a pity to damage yours."0

I fitted a new bottom bracket and the creaking began after 10 miles or so.
It was the crank bolts coming loose probably the square drive settling in.
I carried the allen key and everytime it creaked, I gave it a quick tighten.
Eventually the square drive settled properly and the creaking has gone.
Pedals are a major creaking prob.0 -
My Look Keo Carbon's do exactly the same thing. Horrible creaking noise when pushing on a bit.
I'll try the WD40 trick0 -
i check& cleaned the stem bolt put grease on them i using xt race spd pedals which are new put my old spd cleat pedal back on creaking noise with them on grease the seat post+ seat post rails.have not check the rear mech yet

Front skewer! It's always the front skewer!
Take it out, smear of grease, back in, bosh. You'll be enjoying the tweeting of birds again with immediate effect.0 -

This is two people now whos said that got same issuse, stripping pedal i think.0 -
I've had the non-drive crank arm work loose on Shimano before. Made a hell of a racket until I did the usual fix (take apart drive train and put it back together again).0

Try holding bike stationary and applying pressure to pedals and slowly rotating, I did this last night on my road bike to find a rather annoying creak under pressure and discovered it was actually the freehub creaking.
This was after I had tried tightening everything and applying mr sheen to cleats which is what normally creaks on my bikes.
Best of luck, bike noises drive me nuts :twisted:0 -
I had this at the end of last year: try oiling the rear wheel nipples: did the job for me.0
