Looking to buy a new helmet. Current have a Met, no idea of model, but had an off and want to replace it.

Head size is 59cm and looking to spend around £100.

What would you recommend?

Comfort is the most important thing - I'd advise you to look round the shops and try some on.

I have also been looking for a new helmet to buy, having tried a few I settled for a Kask Mojito. I already own a Bell Sweep R. And the new helmet is a serious bit of kit. Its £100, fits very well, very compact. Take a look.

Like most things, looks a lot better in real. Good luck! :D

    +1.

If you're going to buy online and aren't fussed about trying first then I can highly recommend the Kask K10. For me, it's superb!

    Thanks for the replies

How does the Kask compare to the s-works and the new s3, as this is what I was looking at.

Until last year I had always worn Specialized helmets. However, when I tried the (then) new 2011 models the fit just wasn't the same. My regular 'L' was too tight and the 'XL' was just huge. The S-works model was exactly the same. The S-works model I looked at seemed a quality product and it was very light indeed, it just wasn't right for me.

I didn't like the fit of Giro or Met so took a gamble on buying the Kask online.

Well, it's a universal size suitable for 53-61cm heads. The up'n'down retention system means that the cradle can easily be adjusted to find a comfortable position, even with Winter gloves on it can easily be adjusted via the big wheel on the back. Ventilation is excellent. It's well made and finished, and the leatherette straps have reflective detailing. It's light and comes with a soft, drawstring storage bag.

If you're bothered about looks it has a low profile so you don't suffer from MHS (Mushroom Head Syndrome). There's a few offers on them at the moment (limited colour choices on the cheapest deals). Parkers and CRC are worth checking. However, I'd happily buy another one at the RRP.

Also, Wiggle are now selling Kask and stock replacement pads and other accessories, such as a mesh liner to stop bugs getting in through the vents, which I will be buying after being stung a good few times last Summer.

Has the design of the K10 changed or is it just the colours?

Looking on the CRC site they have 3 names
