fitting tyres to carbon wheels.
This could be a really stupid question.
Can you use tyre levers in carbon wheels.
Got my new set of 50mm carbon wheels and for love nor money could I get the tyre on at the last point.
They are clincher wheels with conti tyres. I just don't want to damage my new wheels.
So what's people suggestions?

Might be too bl888ing obvious and sincere apolgies if it is - but, just in case, have you checked that all the tyre bead that is on the wheel (on both sides of the tyre) is sitting right in the middle of the rim (so it's sitting on the bit of the rim with the smallest diameter) before trying to get the last bit over the outside lip of the rim - in my experience that can make all the difference between a struggle and a dawdle ?0

I have tried to make sure that the tyre bead is in the middle but I think this is the problem the groove in the middle isn't that deep.
So I'm guessing using tyre levers will be ok to help pull the tyre over.2015 Specialized S-Works Tarmac - Ultegra Di2 (7.0kg)

Ahh - sorry it was just a thought - and re tyre levers with carbon rims sorry I have no experience.0 -
If you go for a nice lightweight clincher tyre with a flexible carcass then you should have little problem fitting them to a carbon rim - Veloflex or Vittoria would be my choice, otherwise, what's the point of dropping top-dollar on fancy wheels and fitting a pair of hose-pipes? No problem with tyre levers - go for a wider one like a Specialized Pry-Babies to lessen the load on the rim.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
