I have just seen one of these on Chain Reaction.
As try as I might I just cant picture where it fits on the bike and exactly what it does (other than catch chains !)
Does it attach to the front derailler some how and replace the bolt on dog tooth.
Please enlighten me.
Cheers

Hey, maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events, but we just got our asses kicked, pal!

You'll need a braze-on front mech - or a braze-on adaptor to fit a front mech. You then mount the catcher on the bolt that fixes the mech to the frame.

Thanks for that.
I still cant see how it works. Surely the position of that will stop the chain moving down on to the lower chain wheel, or does it rotate / move with the front mech.Hey, maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events, but we just got our asses kicked, pal!0 -
it's not too obvious from that picture, but the arm sits just inside the inner ring so the chain can't drop beyond it.
here's a better picture of a similar product:

Anyone know if this will fit on a Canyon Ultimate CF frame?!
Canyon sell their own but it'll work out at £26 including P&P so was wondering if this would work as a cheaper option.0 -

If your front mech is not the normal band on variety (ie there is a braze on or you are using a band on that has a braze on style fitting) then the catcher should fit. They are all the same really except the Token ones are priced at what they are worth whilst the others are priced at multiples of what they are worthFaster than a tent.......0 -
Thanks for the reply.
Yes the mech is braze on so im sure this will fit on there no problem, my concern is will it foul the seat tube at all and therefore not fit?!
was just wondering if Canyon make their own because it requires a unique bend for their frame or not?! I know Canyon's own one fits the the bottle cage screws on the seat tube for example.0 -
What's the distance between the innder chain ring (at the points of the teeth) and the seat post parallel to it?0

I've got one and used it on my SL2 Frame with 105 front mech. Moved to an SL3 frame with Ultegra mech and it wouldn't work. The mech hit it when in the granny...(yes I have a triple). So I guess there is a chance you may need a certain type to fit.0
