My shimano 10 speed freehub as some play in it (5 years old !!).So I think I may need a new / upgrade !.
So are all shimano hubs the same spline pattern fitting, could I upgrade the hub and keep the casette which is a
10 speed HG,
Their are no marking on the hub !
The wheel hub is FH-2200
AS well this hub makes NO noise when freewheeling which I like.

The Shimano freehubs are held on with a hollow hex screw inside. It might just be loose.

You'll have to pop the axle out to replace the freehub body anyway so you may as well have a look when you do that.

Yes you can mix & match.

I have bought new-old-stock hubs a couple of times to get the freehub body, much cheaper than the body itself
    - fitted 4400 Tiagra and STX bodies onto WHR550 wheels

I think if you have expensive titanium hub body on Dura Ace wheels, it will matter, but not on a 2200 hub - any steel freehub body would do
