Should there be 'play' in SPD-SL pedals
Hi all,
I am trying to isolate a click noise and feeling that is always coming through my right foot.
Thought it might be pedal related (have 105 5700 SPD-SL with ~ 2000 miles on)
I tried to ride with the pedals disengaged and upside down but this made so much other noise and such strange cadence that I couldnt hear anything!
When off the bike the pedals feel smooth to rotated by hand, if I wiggle the pedal body there is ~ 1mm of play on both pedals between body and axle. Do the pedals need an overhaul???
Thanks
Tim

Sounds like you could get away with just tightening up the bearing cones a bit to remove the play. If there's any roughness then that would justify overhauling the bearings completely.0

Thanks - I'll have a go.
Is there a how to on this? It looks like I might need the shimano special tool for the plastic nut thing on the axle.My bikes
