Hi all,

Any recommendations on chain (and where to buy from)

10 Speed
105 5700
Compact with 12-25 cassette
Looking for reliability for fast training rides. (i.e. rather have one that wont snap even if it is a slighly heavier)

Currently running KMC which seems to be knackered at ~2000 miles

Thanks
Tim

  • Based on my experience t5..it doesnt make much difference.
Current bike, 10 speed Xenon equipped, its had KMC, Veloce and 105 chains fitted (105 on a campag :? )..it's never made that much difference, they've all lasted circa 1200 to 1500 miles, all cared for well and in the same way (ish)
SRAMs going on next, but i dont expect any revelations, i think they're all much of a muchness.

KMC are the best I reckon. Plus they have that split link which is handy. Get them from an ebay seller, usually cheaper than most online shops.

So anyone reckon that KMC x10 93 the sweet spot for price performance?

Yup - KMC for the Yosster from CRC at about a tenner a pop (and if you order today there's an extra 10% off, but I didn't read the small pront so I'm not sure iof theer is a minimium spend).

For the sake of a Pound, I can't be bothered with eBay/PayPal/waiting for days for delivery. But that's just me.

can you post a link to the KMC 10 sp chain for a tenner on CRC? I searched for chains sorting by price, and the first 10 speed one was SRAM and more than a tenner
