New Shimano 10 speed chain - No link pin alternative?

New chain turned up but there is no link pin, called LBS's and none have the pins in stock, but I've been told the KMC split is compatible.

Can someone confirm this to me, as I didn't think you could do this.

    Yes, absolutely. KMC works.

    I've been using KMC missing links on Shimano 10 speed chain for 3 years without any problems. Quite expensive for what they are, but a heck of a lot easier than faffing around with pins.

    Just make sure the KMC links are the Shimano 10 speed version

    I`m running a KMC 10 speed link on my Shimano chain.Works just fine.

    I use sram 10 spd links in my shimano chains no problems.
